Big West Championships Set for Thursday through Saturday at UCI

Cal Poly is primed to compete at the Big West Conference Track & Field Championships on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as 58 Mustangs are headed to UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium.

Prior to the cancellation of the 2020 meet, Long Beach State won the men's 2019 title, while Cal State Fullerton remains the defending women's champion following two springs ago.
Cal Poly is led by a tandem of defending conference champions in Brooke Tjerrild (women's pole vault) and Bobby Poynter (men's 800 meters).
Additionally, at the Multi-Event portion of the Conference Finals last weekend, Cal Poly's Julianna Ruotolo won the championship for the heptathlon with 4,832 points. Meanwhile in the decathlon, Dylan Bouzigues also made the All-Conference Team for the Mustangs, taking second place with a score of 6,973. They led Cal Poly to an early first-place positioning in the women's team standings (with 14 points), while the men's squad is in second place (via 11).
