Name, Image and Likeness
On June 30, 2021, the NCAA governance bodies in all three divisions adopted a uniform interim policy suspending NCAA name, image and likeness (NIL) rules for all incoming and current student-athletes in all sports. This is a temporary action that will remain in place until federal legislation or new NCAA rules are adopted.
Beginning July 1, college athletes have the opportunity to benefit from their name, image and likeness, provided all NIL activities are consistent with California state law and Cal Poly NIL Policies. Â
