
Mustangs Head to Pacific Northwest for Two-Game Road Trip

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly women’s basketball will finish off a stretch of three straight road games when heading up to the Pacific Northwest for a pair of games in the state of Washington.
The Mustangs will first face Seattle University Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. before heading east to face Eastern Washington Monday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Links to those as well as live stats for each game can be found on the schedule page.
Cal Poly is off to a 1-1 start to the season after beating UC Santa Cruz in the season opener last week. The Mustangs then fell to Stanford on Sunday.
Sophomore guard Vanessa McManus is off to an incredible start to the season, averaging 26.5 points per game. She scored 24 points in the season opener before recording a career-high 29 points against Stanford. She currently leads the Big West in scoring and is tied for sixth in the country.
Bringing together a team that has nine newcomers, fourth year head coach Shanele Stires has her team ranked second in the Big West in field goal percentage and third in steals per game in the early goings of the season.
Seattle University comes into Saturday’s game 1-3 overall on the season, having lost their last two games which came to UC Santa Barbara and Fresno State. Eastern Washington is currently 1-1 as of Thursday.
Following Monday’s game against the Eagles, Cal Poly will return home to host Southern Utah Friday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. to start a three-game homestand.
