Cal Poly Falls to Pacific Friday at Mustang Classic, 5-2

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Senior left fielder Kiara Blanchard provided the Cal Poly softball program an early lead against Pacific Friday evening at the Mustang Classic, but the Tigers scored five times without reply at Bob Janssen Field to claim a 5-2 victory.
Held to a solitary hit through the opening two innings, Cal Poly went up 2-0 in the third with Blanchard first doubling to plate freshman shortstop Madi Bohannon from second base. A two-base throwing error on the play from Pacific shortstop Amanda Bricker then brought Blanchard around from second.
Pacific, however, required just a half inning to surge in front. After first baseman Bailey Boetjer reached on a leadoff Mustang throwing error, starting junior righthander Ally Robbins (0-2) hit designated player Kaylah Adams. Two batters later, third baseman Jordan Hayes belted her first homer of 2026 over the center field wall.
Pacific then ran its lead 5-2 in the top half of the sixth after center fielder Zaedi Tagalog produced a two-out, two-run single to center field.
Cal Poly resumes Mustang Classic action on Saturday, Feb. 21 with a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader versus Pacific and first-time foe Manhattan. The complete 2026 Mustang Classic results and schedule are below.
