CAMARENA’S CAREER DAY: Making just her third collegiate appearance during Cal Poly’s 7-6 home win against Oregon State (Feb. 9), freshman righthander Natalie Camarena tossed five and one-third innings of relief to earn her first career win while hitting a third-inning solo home run and producing a fourth-inning run-scoring hit.

The Mustangs earned 45 points to finish seven votes shy of Hawai’i. Long Beach State, last season’s Big West runner-up, took top spot in the poll with 81 total points and nine of 10 first-place votes. Defending champion Cal State Fullerton earned 63 points and the remaining first-place vote. UC Santa Barbara was third on 59 points.
LOOKING AHEAD (FEB. 22-23): Cal Poly returns home to Bob Janssen Field to host Sacramento State for a Saturday, Feb. 22 doubleheader (1 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 23 single matchup (11 a.m.). Cal Poly has won six of the last nine matchups with Sacramento State since 2013 – including edging the Hornets, 1-0, as part of a Feb. 9, 2024 opening day doubleheader. Cal Poly leads the all-time series, 44-39, dating to the first matchup on April 30, 1976.
