Kickoff from Negoesco Stadium is 6 p.m. for Cal Poly (0-4-0), which resumes action following a week break and after opening its eight-game home schedule inside Alex G. San Francisco (3-0-2), looking for its first victory against Cal Poly in 22 years, stayed unbeaten this season with 1-1 home draw versus Seattle (Sept. 8). Having scored in every match this year, San Francisco's Monday match against Cal Poly completes a six-game, season-opening home stand.

CAL POLY VERSUS SAN FRANCISCO: The Mustangs stretched their unbeaten run against San Francisco to four successive matches with a 3-0 home win on Sept. 6, 2021. Cal Poly forced a scoreless draw in its last visit to San Francisco (Sept. 30, 2019) after defeating the Dons at home in 2013 and 2014. Cal Poly's only defeat to San Francisco at the Division I level was a 3-1 away loss on Sept. 8, 2000.
RODRIGUEZ IN FRAME: Despite conceding multiple goals in his first four collegiate outings, junior goalkeeper Victor Rodriguez ranks second among NCAA Division I players with 24 total saves and sixth with 6.00 saves per match. His 10-save performance at Ohio State (Aug. 28) marked the highest total by a Mustang since Carlos Arce-Hurtado produced 10 saves versus UC Riverside (Oct. 6, 2018).
KLEINHAMMES, GARCIA GET CAL POLY OFF THE MARK: With senior forward Max Kleinhammes producing his first goal in 367 days and freshman midfielder Richie Garcia finding his first in a Cal Poly shirt, the Mustangs – held scoreless through their opening three matches prior to the Sept. 5 home opener against Houston Baptist – broke a 285-minute drought to open the season. Kleinhammes, whose first goal as a Mustang came during a 1-1 home draw against San Diego State (Sept. 3, 2021), notched Cal Poly's first goal of the year in the 16th minute. Garcia, who redshirted last season and has started all four matches in 2022, added his first collegiate goal in the 23rd.
CAL POLY SELECTED SIXTH IN BIG WEST CONFERENCE POLL: Highlighted by sophomore forward Drew Patterson's selection to the 11-player Big West Preseason Team, Cal Poly was selected for a sixth-place finish in the Big West standings following the Aug. 19 release of the annual coaches poll. Cal Poly earned 44 points and one first-place vote to finish directly behind third-place UC Davis (49), fourth-place UC Riverside (47) and fifth-place Sacramento State (46). UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine, who split last year's regular season title, each collected 71 points to return to the top spot in the preseason poll.
UP NEXT (SEPT. 17): Cal Poly completes Big West Conference preparations with a three-match home stand that begins on Saturday, Sept. 17 versus Saint Mary's at 7 p.m. The Gaels (3-2-0) face five Big West opponents during their non-conference stretch, continuing Monday, Sept. 12 at UC Irvine.
