Mustangs Renew Fresno Pacific Series with Saturday Exhibition

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Hosting Division II Fresno Pacific for the seventh successive season, the Cal Poly men's soccer program plays the first of three home exhibitions at Alex G. Spanos Stadium when squaring off against the Sunbirds on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 1 p.m.
Cal Poly, which opened its preseason training camp on Tuesday before hosting its annual intrasquad exhibition on Wednesday, returns six goalscorers and 12 letterwinners from last year's side. Featuring one of the youngest lineups in Division I, the Mustangs count 39 combined freshmen and sophomores among its 45-player roster.
Defeated at Cal Poly in last year's Aug. 24 exhibition, 4-1, Fresno Pacific finished 6-8-1 in 2021.
Cal Poly completes regular season preparations with home exhibitions versus UNLV (Tuesday, Aug. 16) and Santa Clara (Saturday, Aug. 20).
The Mustangs open the 2022 regular season with a Thursday, Aug. 25 matchup versus Dayton at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
