MUSTANGS DIAMOND WEEKLY SERIES PROGRAM
SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly softball program returns home for the first time in three weeks and plays two of its ensuing three Big West Conference series at Bob Janssen Field when hosting Hawai'i for doubleheaders on Friday, April 9 (4 p.m.) and Saturday, April 10 (3 p.m.). With Big West series limited to three games, the second matchup of Saturday's doubleheader will not count toward the Big West standings. Swept at UC Santa Barbara (April 2-3) and seeking to snap a five-game slide, Cal Poly (8-11, 3-6) entered the week trailing fourth place Hawai'i (6-7, 5-4) by two games in the Big West standings and second place Long Beach State (12-5, 8-1) by five games.

CAL POLY VERSUS HAWAI'I: Swept at home by Hawai'i in 2019 and at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium in 2018, Cal Poly looks to snap a six-game series slide. Cal Poly won two of three series home games against Hawai'i in 2017, but trails in the all-time series, 17-8.
CLOSE, BUT: Including 9-8 and 7-6 losses at UC Santa Barbara (April 2), 10 of Cal Poly's 19 games this season – 53 percent – have been decided by one run with the Mustangs holding a 3-7 record in those decisions.
CENTER (FIELDER) OF SUCCESS: Having never batted higher than .262 during her previous three seasons, senior center fielder Noellah Ramos (above) takes a team leading .379 (25-for-66) mark that ranks fifth among Big West hitters into Cal Poly's April 9-10 series versus Hawai'i. Also Cal Poly's leader with seven multi-hit games – including three-hit efforts versus Saint Mary's (March 6) and at UC Riverside (March 27) – Ramos has hit safely in 16 of 19 games. Ramos has also struck out just seven times in 66 at-bats this year. A starter in 139 of 143 appearances for Cal Poly since her 2018 freshman season, Ramos is a .966 career fielder.
AMOS'S EXCEPTIONAL SEASON: Now a career .298 (64-for-215) batter after ranking second in Cal Poly's lineup and seventh in the Big West with a .371 (23-for-62) batting average this season, junior infielder Maddie Amos leads the Mustangs with seven multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games. The Big West's leader with seven doubles while sitting fourth in slugging percentage (.661) and seventh for home runs (three) and total bases (41), Amos has hit safely in 15 of Cal Poly's 19 games.
MARTIN PLACING FINISHING TOUCHES ON STANDOUT CAREER: Cal Poly's fifth leading hitter this season with a .309 (17-for-55) mark, senior first baseman Hailey Martin also ranks second in the lineup with five doubles and four multi-RBI games.
