SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After earning its first national ranking of the season, the Cal Poly women’s tennis team travels to the Bay Area this week to face Santa Clara and San Jose State.
The Mustangs checked in at No. 64 in this week’s ITA national team rankings after a trip to Southern California this past weekend saw them take down No. 50 Loyola Marymount 4-3 and CSUN 6-1. It marks the third straight year Cal Poly has received a national ranking. Last year, finished the season ranked No. 59 in the final ITA rankings and reached a season-high of 38th on March 4, 2025 — tied for the second highest ranking in the program’s history and the best in 14 years.
Riding a three-match winning streak, Cal Poly is set to battle Santa Clara at 10 a.m. Friday at the Degheri Tennis Center, and San Jose State at noon Saturday at the Spartan Tennis Complex. The Broncos battle CSUN at 11 a.m. Thursday before facing the Mustangs.
