SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Highlighted by senior Kennedy Buntrock securing a First Team selection in singles, five Cal Poly women’s tennis players earned All-Big West honors, the conference office announced Thursday.
This marks the second straight year at least five players have garnered All-Big West praise. The accolades come on the heels of yet another strong season by the Mustangs that saw Cal Poly advance to its sixth straight Big West Championship match — the third longest streak in conference history — and record at least 13 victories for the sixth consecutive year (13-10).
On top of Buntrock’s First Team selection in singles, sophomore Jessica MacCallum grabbed Second Team praise in singles while senior Alexandra Ozerets received Honorable Mention recognition. Junior Candela Aparisi and redshirt sophomore Natalie Lynch were the only doubles pairing for the Mustangs to garner honors, nabbing a Second Team selection.

This is the second straight year Buntrock has earned All-Big West honors in singles, securing Second Team praise in 2025. The Henderson, Nevada native is now a four-time All-Big West honoree, grabbing First Team praise in doubles a year ago and Second Team honors in doubles as a true freshman in 2023.
Buntrock starred at the No. 1 singles spot for the Mustangs in all but one match she played in this season, recording a 12-7 overall record and a 6-2 mark in Big West matches. She defeated No. 53-ranked Hannah Read from San Diego in straight sets in Cal Poly’s second match of the season and ends her career with a 45-36 record in dual singles matches, tied for the seventh most wins in program history.
MacCallum nabbed All-Big West honors in singles for the first time after garnering All-Big West Honorable Mention recognition in doubles last season alongside Natalie Lynch. The Laguna Beach, Calif. native played at the No. 2 spot in singles nearly all season long, posting a 12-8 record and a 6-2 mark in conference matches. She ended the year on a five-match winning streak in singles and went 2-0 at the Big West Championships. She has recorded 31 singles victories across her first two seasons as a Mustang.

Ozerets secured Honorable Mention recognition in singles for the second time in her career and the first time since posting a 15-6 record as a true freshman in 2023 while playing primarily at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the lineup. In her last season as a Mustang, Ozerets recorded a team-best 14-9 mark in singles while playing most of her matches at No. 4, going 6-2 in Big West matches. The Mission Viejo, Calif. native earned the dual clinching point for the Mustangs in their Big West Championship semifinal victory over CSUN and went 2-0 at the conference tournament. She shattered the Division I program record for dual singles wins this season, ending her career with a 58-32 record — six more victories than anyone else in school history.
Aparisi and Lynch received Second Team accolades in doubles after recording a team-best 12-7 record, including a 5-1 mark in conference matches. The dynamic duo went 10-4 at the No. 2 spot and moved up to the No. 1 spot in the lineup for the Mustangs’ final four matches this season. This is Lynch’s second straight year grabbing All-Big West honors, receiving Honorable Mention recognition last season. For Aparisi, who transferred to Cal Poly from Oregon this year, this is her first time securing All-Conference honors.
