SAN LUIS OBISPO – Featuring 25 individual lockers, enhanced clubhouse space, renovated coaches offices and amenities including a cold plunge pool, video monitor and nutrition and hydration stations, the Cal Poly softball program – following a four-month renovation – officially unveiled its new clubhouse facility earlier this week.
Refurbished in the existing clubhouse space at Bob Janssen Field, the $750,000, university-funded project also includes new flooring, a complete interior paint job, Cal Poly Athletics branding, enhanced ceiling-to-floor lighting, a skylight and renovated restroom with fresh vanities and showers.
“Our updated clubhouse is incredible and our student-athletes – who were front and center in every decision that went into the upgrades – are grateful to everyone who took part in making this happen,” 22nd-year head coach Jenny Condon said. “We're especially thankful to (former senior vice president of administration and finance) Cynthia Villa for identifying a need and making this project a priority. She saw that our facility hadn't had any improvements since it was built in 2001 and wanted to make sure the student-athletes had a locker room that was fully functional. We’re grateful that she made sure this project was a priority.”
Both of Cal Poly’s coaches offices were also refitted with new desks and furniture and additional storage space.
Each of the 25 individual Holman lockers includes increased personal storage underneath and above the seating, charging ports and personalized lock boxes for valuables. All of the lockers were made possible through $3,000 sponsorships with plates being installed to recognize contributors.

After months of anticipation, it’s incredible to see this vision come to life ... from the lockers to the showers, every detail reflects the investment made in our program. Having this space ready prior to the 2026 season has already created a positive and motivated atmosphere for our team.Ally Robbins, Junior Righthander
“We’re extremely excited to step into our newly remodeled clubhouse. After months of anticipation, it’s incredible to see this vision come to life, and we’re truly grateful and thankful to everyone who advocated for this remodel and helped make it possible,” junior righthander Ally Robbins said. “From the lockers to the showers, every detail reflects the investment made in our program. Having this space ready prior to the 2026 season has already created a positive and motivated atmosphere for our team.”
Additional internal branding and imaging featuring some of the program’s most notable players will be furnished in the near future.
Maino Construction served as the general project contractor while Brandon Medeiros oversaw completion as project manager. The university’s trade shop refined the lighting, electricity and remaining utilities.
“Tom Maino and (superintendent) Pat Sigler went above and beyond to give us a clubhouse that meets our needs,” Condon said. “They made sure we had temporary accommodations during the fall, so we weren't completely displaced during construction. Pat made sure that we were listened to and understood the vision of what we wanted the final project to be and his attention to detail is seen in every inch of the building.
“We're thankful to Brandon Medeiros for dealing with all of the hiccups that happened along the way and (campus fire marshal) Michelle Chariton, who worked with major projects and helped with various parts of the completion – both on and off campus.
“Our alumni – principally, Kelley Lashley, Kelly McInerny and Angie Simon – were instrumental in the process as well. From beginning to end, they were part of the planning and input throughout the remodel. We're grateful for their support with this project and their continued support of our program.”
Phase two of the Bob Janssen Field renovation project, comprising a bullpen revitalization and landscaping around the complex, will commence shortly. Further Cal Poly softball branding on the outside of the clubhouse will also follow.
