SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Coming off a big road win to begin Big Sky play last week against No. 21 Sacramento State, Cal Poly football returns home this week to face rival No. 7 UC Davis Saturday at 5 p.m. at Mustang Memorial Field presented by French Hospital at Spanos Stadium.
The Mustangs improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in Big Sky after the win over the Hornets. Senior safety Brian Dukes Jr. had two interceptions in the game, including a pick-six to get the Mustangs on the scoreboard. For his performance, he was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. Offensively, quarterback Bo Kelly made his first start of the year and finished 17-27 for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Jordan Garrison finished with two receiving touchdowns while running back Tyrei Washington ran for 113 yards and a score.
Saturday’s game is also Homecoming. The first two thousand fans receive a slap coozie Also new this year for students is the chance to win one quarter of in-state tuition. Each of the first 2,500 students to arrive will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win. The winner will be announced after the third quarter ends.
Cal Poly is once again doing ‘City Days’ this year at football games. Each game, fans from different select cities around the Central Coast can purchase a ticket for $5. For this Saturday’s game against the Aggies, it is San Luis Obispo Day. Fans from there can purchase $5 tickets HERE.
