
Know the Foe: Eastern Washington

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football has its final game of the season this Saturday, hosting Eastern Washington at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
This will be the first meeting against the Eagles since the 2023 season. Eastern Washington won that game 48-13 in Cheney. Eastern Washington leads the all-time series 12-2. The Mustangs’ last win over the Eagles was a 40-35 victory in 2005.
Eastern Washington comes into the game in the middle of the pack in the Big Sky standings at 5-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play. They are coming off a 27-7 win over Northern Colorado last week. They also have wins over No. 24 Idaho, Weber State, and Portland State.
As a team, EWU’s defense ranks second in the Big Sky in interceptions with 13. Cornerback Jaylon Jenkins leads the Big Sky in interceptions with five.
For Saturday’s game, the first 2,000 fans will receive a free thunder stick upon entry to the game. Also new this year for students is the chance to win one quarter of in-state tuition. Each of the first 2,500 students to arrive will receive two raffle tickets to enter to win. The winner will be announced after the third quarter ends
