SAN LUIS OBISPO – Cal Poly men’s basketball fans receive their first look at the 2025-26 Mustangs on Friday, Oct. 24 as the program welcomes Division II Cal State East Bay for an 11 a.m. exhibition inside Mott Athletics Center.
With Cal Poly returning seven letterwinners from last year’s squad that reached the Big West Championship semifinals and finished 19th among NCAA Division I programs with 82.1 points per game, Friday’s matchup serves as the program’s lone exhibition prior to the Monday, Nov. 3 regular season opener at USC.
One of just five Division I programs not to lose a player to the transfer portal during the offseason, Cal Poly features one of the nation’s most diverse lineups with the 2025-26 squad representing nine different countries – the second highest total in Division I (Cal Poly’s roster also ranks as the only one in Division I encompassing all six continents/regions).
Friday’s exhibition is also Cal Poly’s featured field trip game, with the program welcoming hundreds of local elementary students.
Cal State East Bay finished 11-17 last season and seventh in the CCAA standings with a 9-13 conference mark.
Friday’s exhibition marks the first of 15 home games for Cal Poly. Following the Nov. 3 season opener at USC, Cal Poly next returns home to host Division III Pacific Lutheran on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
