SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Fresh off a resounding 3-1 road victory over rival UC Santa Barbara in its Big West opener, Cal Poly women's soccer returns home Sunday to host its final nonconference match of the season at Mustang Memorial Presented by French Hospital against West Coast Conference foe Pacific.
First kick is set for noon and prior to the match the Mustangs (2-3-2) will hold Senior Day festivities to honor their six seniors — Brooke Golik, Kate Reedy, Whitney Wiley, Olivia Ortiz, McKenna Carbon (pictured above) and Georgia Weeks. The match is also part of a doubleheader with men's soccer, which plays Air Force at 3 p.m. Sunday will mark the first home men's and women's soccer doubleheader since Sept. 19, 2019.

CAL POLY VERSUS PACIFIC: Squaring off the first time since 2017, the Mustangs lead the all-time series 17-3-1. Cal Poly has also won the last four meetings.
SCOUTING PACIFIC: The Tigers (6-2-1) will carry a three-match winning streak into Sunday's battle, most recently defeating Fresno State 3-0 at home on Thursday. Pacific also owns victories over Eastern Washington, UC Santa Barbara, Oregon State, Southern Utah and Sacramento State, and is one win away from matching its win total from a year ago. The Tigers, picked to finish seventh in the nine-team WCC Preseason Poll, are ranked 42nd in the country in scoring and are led by fifth year senior Jaida Nyby (seven goals, one assist) and sophomore midfielder Alexis Pashales (five goals, two assists).
POINTS GALORE: The Cal Poly offense roared to life in the second half of Thursday's match at UCSB, scoring three goals. Three Mustangs registered multiple points — Kate Reedy (one goal, one assist), Jessie Halladay (one goal, one assist) and Emily Lieber (two assists). With 8 points this season, Halladay is currently ranked second in the Big West in points per match (1.60), while Lieber is tied for fourth in the conference in assists with three.
SO-MONEY: Freshman Sophia Moness buried her first collegiate goal in last Sunday's home match against Santa Clara, helping the Mustangs secure their first draw over a top-10 nationally ranked team since Sept. 24, 2015. The performance earned Moness Big West Freshman of the Week honors.
THE PERFECT MIX: The Mustangs return 15 letterwinners and four All-Big West honorees from their 2022 squad that secured the program's first outright Big West regular season title in nine years and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, but also have 15 newcomers this fall — 12 freshmen and three transfers.
BUILT DIFFERENT: Sophomore Camryn Penn and juniors Emma Brown and Aynsley Conner make up an experienced-laden backline for the Mustangs. Between the three of them, the trio boasts 98 career appearances and 91 starts. Brown, a 2022 All-Big West First Team selection, was named to the All-Big West Preseason Coaches Team and has played every minute in 37 of the 46 matches she has appeared in. Conner, who transferred to Cal Poly from Minnesota prior to the 2022 season, and Penn, who recorded her third career assist on Moness' goal this past Sunday, each have 26 appearances and 24 starts across their Cal Poly careers.
FUN FACTS: Cal Poly is currently ranked 29th in Division I in average home attendance and 53rd in shot accuracy.
UP NEXT: The Mustangs hit the road to wrap up nonconference play, traveling to Portland on Saturday, Sept. 23, to face the Pilots at 7 p.m.
