Ramos Completes Career with NCAA Statistical Champion Honor

SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly softball program enjoyed an NCAA statistical champion in sacrifice hits per game for the second time in six years with gradating center fielder Noellah Ramos capturing the honor for the 2022 season.
Ramos, who produced 13 sacrifice hits in 2022 to rank eighth in program single season history and averaged 0.33 per game to claim the national title, edged Holy Cross outfielder Bailey Chavez (0.32) for top spot.
Cal Poly's everyday center fielder since her 2018 freshman season, Ramos – who graduated with a business degree in June – started 194 of a possible 206 games during her career while ranking ninth in program history with 28 total sacrifices. She also finished her career ranked eighth all-time with nine triples and 13th with 20 steals, 88 runs and 57 walks.
Academically, Ramos finished as a four-time Big West All-Academic Team selection.
Ramos is the Cal Poly Athletic Department's first NCAA statistical champion since 2018, when Mustang running back Joe Protheroe led the Division I Football Championship Subdivision in total rushing yards.
The Cal Poly softball program's last NCAA statistical champion was center fielder Amanda Sandoval, whose 0.44 sacrifices per game in 2016 led all Division I players.
