Clements Named to NFCA All-West Region Third Team

COMPLETE NFCA ALL-WEST REGION TEAMS
SAN LUIS OBISPO – One day after being named Big West Conference Freshman Field Player of the Year, left fielder Jessica Clements earned selection to the NFCA All-West Region third team on Thursday afternoon.
Clements, also named Wednesday to the All-Big West first team and Big West All-Freshman team, completed the regular season as the conference's leading hitter and ranked 68th among NCAA Division I players with a .396 (63-for-159) batting average. Having recorded the sixth highest single season batting average in program history, Clements also ranked second among Big West players with 63 hits and fourth with 36 runs.
Having batted .462 (12-for-26) during Cal Poly's nine games against programs ranked among the RPI top 75, Clements hit safely 36 times in 2022 and led Cal Poly with 18 multi-hit games, collecting a career best four hits on four occasions. A .979 fielder this year, Clements was named as one of 25 finalists for the NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year honor on April 28.
Clements is Cal Poly's third NFCA All-West Region honoree in the previous two years following shortstop Maddie Amos and designated player Shelby Jeffries last season.
