With 26 Home Games, Cal Poly Releases 2023 Softball Schedule

VIEW COMPLETE 2023 SCHEDULE
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Featuring 26 home games – including two non-conference tournaments at Bob Janssen Field for the first time in program history – and nine total matchups against opponents that qualified for the 2022 NCAA Tournament, the Cal Poly softball program released its 48-game regular season schedule for 2023 on Thursday afternoon.
Cal Poly, returning five positional starters, two pitchers and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, opens the regular season at home for the first time since 2007 when welcoming North Dakota, Nevada and UC Santa Barbara for the inaugural Feb. 10-12 Central Coast Classic. Opening 2023 against North Dakota on Friday, Feb. 10, Cal Poly faces the Hawks once more the following afternoon before meeting Nevada twice (Feb. 11-12) to complete the first weekend of action.
After welcoming Idaho State for a Tuesday, Feb. 21 doubleheader, the Mustangs head to the 30-program Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Cathedral City, Calif.), opening action on Thursday, Feb. 23 against Texas Tech and Missouri – the latter the No. 15 seed from last year's NCAA Tournament. Cal Poly continues action in the desert on Friday, Feb. 24 against Iowa State and San Diego before concluding tournament play on Saturday, Feb. 25 versus California.
At the Cal State Fullerton-hosted Judi Garman Classic (March 3-5), Cal Poly faces three NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last season. Cal Poly's Friday, March 3 doubleheader comprises matchups against Fresno State and 2022 Fayetteville Regional finalist Oregon. After squaring off with 2022 Women's College World Series semifinalist UCLA on Saturday, March 4, the Mustangs close tournament play on Sunday, March 5 against fellow NCAA Tournament qualifier LSU and San Jose State.
Cal Poly completes Big West Conference preparations with its 16th annual Mustang Classic (March 10-12). During the 10-game tournament, Cal Poly faces defending Summit League champion South Dakota State and Loyola-Chicago twice before a Sunday, March 12 finale versus Saint Mary's.
The Mustangs begin their 26th season of Big West action with a three-game, March 18-19 series against CSUN. The Mustangs then visit UC Riverside (March 25-26) and UC Santa Barbara (April 1-2)
Cal Poly returns home to host Hawai'i (April 7-8) and CSU Bakersfield (April 15-16) – both of which the Mustangs swept on the road last spring.
After visiting 2022 Big West runner-up Long Beach State (April 22-23), Cal Poly welcomes defending conference champion and 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier Cal State Fullerton (April 28-29).
Cal Poly closes the 2023 regular season with series at UC Davis (May 6-7) and at home versus UC San Diego (May 12-13).
