SAN LUIS OBISPO – Senior midfielder Chase Minter converted a 10th-minute penalty and midfielders Joseph Bolous and Matt LaGrassa and forward Ron Reznichky all added second-half goals as the Cal Poly men's soccer program bettered Division II Fresno Pacific in a Saturday evening exhibition tuneup at Alex G. Spanos Stadium, 4-0.

Senior goalkeeper Wade Hamilton chalked up five saves for Cal Poly, which saw LaGrassa fouled trying to bring down a ball inside the Fresno Pacific penalty area in the 10th minute. Minter, already named to the 30-player Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List for national player of the year, stepped to the penalty spot and placed Cal Poly up 1-0.

Held to just the solitary shot on target during the first half, Cal Poly doubled its lead on 74 minutes as senior defender Kip Colvey (right) drove into the right side of the Sunbird penalty area and picked out Bolous, who fired in a goal from six yards.

Seven minutes later, Colvey linked up with fellow 2014 All-Big West Conference selection LaGrassa, who tapped in Cal Poly's third goal from eight yards.

Reznichky, who redshirted his first season on campus last fall and made his Mustang debut Saturday, completed Cal Poly's scoring 21 seconds from full time. Streaking down the left flank, freshman forward Jared Presley sucked in a Sunbirds defender and drew out Fresno Pacific senior goalkeeper Andrew Luis before finding Reznichky in front of goal.

With the total shot count at 10 apiece, Cal Poly placed six attempts on target to Fresno Pacific's five.

Cal Poly was whistled offside 14 times.

Cal Poly, which returns nine starters from last fall and all seven All-Big West selections, opens its 2015 regular season when hosting UNLV on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. inside Spanos Stadium.
