High School -- A graduate of Northwood High School in Irvine, the same high school attended by former Cal Poly defensive tackle James Chen, Perkins recorded 132 total tackles (84 solo) as a linebacker in his senior season under head coach Rick Curtis ... produced five games of double-digit tackles, including 21 against El Modena ... also had four sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery ... also was a tight end on offense, rushing for 45 yards on 13 carries and catching 12 passes for 117 yards and four scores ... Northwood was 8-4-1 in 2010, placing second in the Pacific Coast League and reaching the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section Southern Division playoffs ...
