2016 -- Playing behind Protheroe, Mohamed and DJ Peluso, carried the ball one time for four yards against Portland State ... played in 10 games, mostly on special teams ... three tackles on special teams, including a solo stop against UC Davis ... named team's most valuable player on special teams ... did not play in 2017 Spring Game.

2015 -- Redshirt ... eight carries for 32 yards in 2016 Spring Game.

High School -- Middleton was a 1,000-yard rusher as a senior under head coach Brian Hay at Sweetwater High School last fall ... rushed for 1,041 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry and also caught six passes for 144 yards, one for a touchdown en route to first-team All-Metro-South Bay League honors ... produced five 100-yard games, including 272 yards on just 15 carries and five touchdowns against Hilltop ... on defense, recorded 58 tackles (38 solo), including 8.5 sacks and 18 tackles for lost yardage ... also recovered a fumble for a touchdown ... Sweetwater was 10-1 overall, capturing the Metro-South Bay League title and reaching the quarterfinal round of the CIF-San Diego Section Division 3 playoffs before losing to Morse 12-0 ... as a junior in 2013, rushed for 703 yards and four touchdowns, cracking the 100-yard mark twice, and compiled 62 tackles (48 solo), including five sacks and 22 tackles for lost yardage, along with a pair of fumble recoveries ... also played basketball, averaging 7.9 points and 11.3 rebounds as a junior and 14.6 points and 7.6 rebounds as a senior ... slso recruited by Howard and Idaho State, Middleton chose Cal Poly "because of the wonderful environment. They have a great coaching staff that cares about the players as well as their families. The school is beautiful as well as the people. The academic program is great as well as the facilities. Cal Poly will always have a special place in my heart" ... on Jan. 23, the first day of Middleton's official visit to Cal Poly, Middleton's father, David, passed away ... "It was the last day I saw my dad alive," said Middleton. "After we explored the beautiful campus for a day, he was excited for me to attend Cal Poly for the next four years. My dad enjoyed his time with the great coaching staff and the coaches said all my dad could talk about was how proud he was of his kids. I'm grateful to have had him there to visit the campus with me and I'm excited to be a Mustang for the next four years of my life."
