SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — For the second straight week, Cal Poly football plays at home Saturday, Nov. 1 against Portland State at 2 p.m. at Mustang Memorial Field presented by French Hospital at Spanos Stadium.
The Mustangs are looking to get back in the win column this week against a Portland State team seeking its first win of the season. This will be Cal Poly's first game against a team not ranked in the FCS Top 25 in five weeks.
On defense, Cal Poly boasts the top two tacklers in the Big Sky in linebackers Mikey D’Amato and Kenny Olson. Both are also top 11 in the country in that category. Offensively, wide receiver Michael Briscoe leads the Big Sky and is sixth in the FCS in receiving touchdowns.
For Saturday’s game, the first 5,000 fans will receive a Cal Poly rally towel upon entry to the game. Also new this year for students is the chance to win one quarter of in-state tuition. Each of the first 2,500 students to arrive will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win. The winner will be announced after the third quarter ends.
Cal Poly is once again doing ‘City Days’ this year at football games. Each game, fans from different select cities around the Central Coast can purchase a ticket for $5. For this Saturday’s game against the Vikings, it is Atascadero/Paso Robles/Santa Margarita Day. Fans from there can purchase $5 tickets HERE.
