
Cal Poly Football Adds Two Transfer Edge Rushers to 2026 Roster

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football head coach Tim Skipper has already started adding transfers to the 2026 roster, signing two defensive ends who are each junior college transfers.
The Mustangs have picked up Gavin Molloy from American River College and Jalonn Booth from Modesto Junior College.
Molloy is a 6-3, 240 pound edge rusher who has spent the last two seasons playing at American River College in Sacramento. In 20 career games there, he totaled 63 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. Molloy, who holds a 4.0 GPA, was named First Team All-Conference this past season after recording 42 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. Molloy is from El Dorado Hills, Calif. and prepped at Oak Ridge High School.
Booth is a 6-3, 230 pound edge rusher who has spent the last two years at Modesto Junior College. This past season, he was one of the premier players in all of junior college as he was named the California Junior College Defensive Player of the Year and JUCO All-American. He led all California junior colleges in sacks with 23. He was also named his conference’s Defensive MVP. In addition to his 23 sacks this season, he also totaled a whopping 32.5 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and four pass breakups. Booth is from Merced, Calif. and prepped at Merced High School.
These are the first two transfer additions for Cal Poly under new head coach Tim Skipper, who was named the 19th head coach in program history on Dec. 3.
