Skipper, D’Amato, Magnuson Represent Mustangs at Big Sky Kickoff Weekend in Spokane

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The anticipation for the 2026 football season begins this weekend as the Big Sky Conference gathers in Spokane for its annual Kickoff Weekend. The event kicks off on Saturday (July 25) and concludes on Monday (July 27) with the conference's official Football Media Day.
Cal Poly head coach Tim Skipper will represent the Mustangs at the event alongside linebacker Mikey D'Amato and offensive lineman Leif Magnuson.
Kickoff Weekend is hosted by Northern Quest Resort & Casino.
On Saturday, the Big Sky Conference will host a free youth football clinic at North Central High School from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in football drills led by the 13 student-athletes representing each Big Sky institution during Kickoff Weekend. At the conclusion of the clinic, attendees will receive a complimentary poster for autographs.
Saturday evening will also feature the 2026 Big Sky Hall of Fame induction ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m., honoring distinguished individuals who have made lasting contributions to the conference.
Sunday's schedule includes educational sessions and discussions focused on the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics, providing student-athletes with resources and insight on current issues impacting college sports.
Monday's festivities conclude with the Big Sky Conference's live Football Media Day coverage beginning at 9 a.m. Cal Poly's segment featuring Coach Tim Skipper, Mikey D'Amato and Leif Magnuson is scheduled to air at approximately 10:15 a.m.
