High School -- After gaining 40 pounds in theoffseason, Goebel was a wide receiver and linebacker and alsopunted and was on other special teams as a senior under ChrisAndriano at Montini Catholic just outside Chicago ... caught 31passes for 505 yards and six touchdowns on offense and recorded 77tackles on defense to lead the Broncos to an 11-1 record and thequarterfinal round of the Class 5A playoffs ... earned all-statehonors as both a wide receiver and linebacker ... also earnedall-Suburban Catholic Conference and all-area honors ... alsocompeted on the wrestling team, posting a 48-4 record with 29 pinsen route to the Class AA state title at 215 pounds ... also playedbaseball as a freshman and sophomore ... member of Honor Roll andattained High Honor Roll accolades ... also visited CornellUniversity before choosing Cal Poly.
