Jim Eggen begins his 12th season as an assistant athletictrainer at Cal Poly this fall. Eggen was head athletic trainer atHancock College for one year (2002-03), a graduate assistantathletic trainer at the University of Virginia for one year(2001-02), a student athletic trainer at San Diego State for threeyears (1998-2001) and a student athletic trainer at Cuesta Collegefor one year (1996-97).
Eggen, a December 2000 graduate of San Diego State with abachelor’s degree in kinesiology, earned his master’sdegree in athletic training at Virginia in August 2002.
Eggen is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association,Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association and National Strengthand Conditioning Association. He has taught classes in the field ofsports injuries at Hancock College and San Diego State and is avolunteer for the NATA’s Board of Certification.
Eggen is certified as a Certified Athletic Trainer and with theAmerican Red Cross in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, AutomaticExternal Defibrillator and Standard First Aid. He also is certifiedwith the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Eggen and his wife, Theresa, married 15 years, live in San LuisObispo and have two daughters, Keeley, 10, and Sarah, 7.
