2012 -- Member of squad but did not play in any games as a redshirt freshman ... after a season of practice in the defensive secondary, has switched to the offensive side of the ball and is expected to back up the slotbacks this fall.
2011 -- Redshirt.
High School -- Walsh was a two-way starter as a wide receiver and safety in his senior season under head coach Scott Orloff at Trabuco Hills High School ... a team captain, Walsh recorded 39 tackles (26 solo), two interceptions, a fumble recovery and six pass breakups, leading the Mustangs to a 4-6 overall record ... on offense, Walsh caught 32 passes for 463 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing eight times for 41 yards ... earned first-team All-South Coast League and All-Orange County honors and was a top-10 receiver in the league in receptions and the top 25 on defense ... a 4.46 sprinter in the 40, Walsh turned down an offer from Kansas and also was recruited by North Dakota and South Dakota State, deciding to be a Mustang in his college career because “Cal Poly is a great university with an outstanding nationwide reputation. Cal Poly has an excellent football program, with a great coaching staff who really care about their players, both in athletics and in academics” ... also ran track at Trabuco Hills High, competing in the 100 and long jump ... helped break school record in 400 relay ... earned all-county honors in track and field ... as a junior, notched 47 tackles (23 solo), one sack, two interceptions, recovered three fumbles and scored a defensive touchdown en route to second-team all-league and all-county honors ... his Pop Warner team also was the Mustangs.
