High School -- Under head coach John Heffernan at Elk Grove High School, Finau (no relation to Mustang offensive lineman Vatulele Finau) made 39 tackles in 12 games, including 24 solo stops, as a senior, with 11 sacks, five pass breakups and three blocked field goals ... also kicked off eight times, four of them resulting in touchbacks ... the Thundering Herd posted an 8-4 mark and second-place finish in the Delta League, reaching the semifinals of the CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs ...
