On the offensive side, the Mustangs’ second and third leading wide receivers are back in Michael Briscoe and Logan Booher, who combined for 885 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2024.
Cal Poly will have four new starters on its offensive line this season with last year’s starting center Racin Delgatty as the one returner. They bolstered the offensive line plenty via the transfer portal with guys from the FBS, FCS, and junior college levels.
San Diego is coming off an 8-3 season in 2024. Competing in the FCS conference the Pioneer League, the Toreros were 6-2 in conference play last season for a second place finish in the Pioneer League standings. They are picked to win the Pioneer League this season in the conference’s preseason poll.
Following Saturday’s season opener, the Mustangs will head to Salt Lake City in week 2 to face their lone FBS opponent of the season in the University of Utah. That game will air on ESPN+ at 3 p.m. PT.
