SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — For the first time in over a month, the Cal Poly women’s tennis team returns home this week to host No. 54 Princeton at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Ronca Tennis Center.
Part of the match will be played under the lights, and as always admission is free for all Cal Poly home matches. Exclusive upper-level seating with access to food and beverage is available to purchase for the event. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
Live scoring is available for Thursday’s match HERE. Follow Cal Poly women’s tennis on Instagram (@calpolywtennis) and Twitter/X (@CalPolyWTennis) for live updates throughout the match.
Thursday’s match will mark the Mustangs’ first at home since sweeping Saint Mary’s 7-0 on Feb. 8. After falling out of the national rankings last week, Cal Poly (7-4 this season) checked in at No. 70 in the latest ITA team rankings released Tuesday.
This past week, the Mustangs split a pair of matches in San Diego. First, Cal Poly fought incredibly hard, but fell short to No. 22 San Diego State 5-2. Then, the team wrapped the trip by defeating Big West foe UC San Diego 5-2.
In last Saturday’s win at UCSD, senior Alexandra Ozerets earned the clinching point in singles to tie Peyton Dunkle for the Cal Poly Division I lead in career dual singles victories with 52. She will look to break that record on Thursday against the Tigers.
Princeton is an impressive 10-1 this season and carries a six-match winning streak into Thursday’s matchup. Most recently, the Tigers beat Fresno State 4-0 in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday.
Following Thursday’s match, Cal Poly travels to one of the most talented teams in the country on Thursday, March 21, at 1 p.m. to face No. 6 Pepperdine.
