Cal Poly Women’s Tennis Sweeps Washington State Friday, 7-0

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly women's tennis put on its most dominant performance of the season Friday afternoon at Ronca Tennis Center, shutting out Washington State 7-0.
The Mustangs (3-1) handed the Cougars (6-2) just their second loss of the season, doing so in dominant fashion.
Cal Poly started the match by taking the doubles point thanks to wins by the No. 1 duo of Kennedy Buntrock and Romane Mosse, 6-2, followed by a 7-6(2) clinching victory by the No. 3 tandem of Amy Leather and Sarah MacCallum.
With the win, Leather and MacCallum improved their doubles record together to 3-1 this year.
In singles, Cal Poly was even more dominant, starting with Jessica MacCallum at the No. 5 spot winning her match, 6-1, 6-4. Alexandra Ozerets then put the Mustangs ahead 3-0 after she won her match at the No. 3 spot 6-3, 1-6, 6-1. Ozerets is now 3-0 on the season in singles.
A little while later, Mosse clinched the dual for Cal Poly after she won her match at the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 6-3.
Buntrock won her match at the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 to improve her record to a perfect 3-0 this season. Peyton Dunkle picked up her first dual singles win of the season in her return to the singles lineup at the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 7-6(2).
Natalie Lynch rounded out the 7-0 victory after winning her match at the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 7-6(1) to push her record to 2-1 on the season.
The Mustangs will be back in action at home Sunday at 3 p.m. against Fresno State.
