SAN LUIS OBISPO – Following a 2025 junior season in which he helped direct the Cal Poly men’s soccer program to a second successive Big West regular season title and 10 shutouts, defender and co-captain Parker Owens was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region second team Tuesday morning.
With Owens in the lineup, Cal Poly also conceded just 15 total goals – the second fewest among Big West programs.
Despite seeing his year curtailed Oct. 18 through injury, Owens – a November All-Big West first team selection – started 15 matches while averaging 85.1 minutes per appearance. He also scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at San Diego State (Sept. 21).
A starter in 34 of a possible 39 matches during the past two seasons, Owens was also named to the USC All-Far West Region first team last season.
As a program in 2025, Cal Poly (9-6-5) – producing its highest victory total in a decade – won its final three regular season matches to finish in a three-way tie for the Big West regular season title. The Mustangs then defeated UC San Diego in the Big West Championship opening round before falling at UC Irvine in the semifinals.
Helping lead Cal Poly to another Big West regular season title in 2025 and 10 shutouts ... congratulations, Parker!#RideHigh pic.twitter.com/u17j2qyBDQ
