SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - After an unfortunate rain out for both matches against Santa Clara and University of San Francisco this past weekend, the Mustangs are gearing up for their upcoming stretch of five straight home matches.
This Friday, March 8th, the Mustangs will take on the DePaul University Blue Demons at 12 pm. Following their match against DePaul, the Mustangs will play against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes on Sunday, March 10th, at 12 pm.
Due to a particularly rainy season, the Mustangs haven't been able to compete since coming up just short of a winning score in their match against the University of Oregon on February 24th. The weather forecast for the coming week is looking promising, so the hope is that the Mustangs will be able to start their home match stretch off strong with a win this Friday.
Junior Baastian Weststrate has had a great season so far with a current record of 3-3 overall while playing mostly at the No. 4 spot in the lineup.
Baastian also continues to shine in doubles matches with his partner, senior Colter Smith. The pair has had quite an impressive season with a strong record of 5-1 overall at the top spot in the lineup.
DePaul University is at a 6-6 overall record after a win against Marquette. Grand Canyon University is at a 2-9 overall following a loss against Liberty.
Following this weekend, the Mustangs will face off against Rice on Thursday, March14th at 12 pm.
