
Cal Poly Football Signs Top Five Ranked Recruiting Class

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly head football coach Paul Wulff and his staff continue to get it done on the recruiting trail, signing a top five ranked recruiting class for the second straight year.
Cal Poly signed nine high school recruits to National Letters of Intent during the signing period that began Wednesday. During the early signing period in December, the Mustangs signed 13 guys.
This class features four offensive lineman, three running backs, and two linebackers. Several of them are ranked as three-star recruits and had several offers from Power Five FBS schools.
The website HeroSports.com, which covers FCS football, ranked the Mustangs as having the third best recruiting class in all of FCS. Meanwhile, the recruiting website 247sports.com ranked Cal Poly as having the fifth best FCS recruiting class for the second consecutive year.

RB
Scottsdale, AZ / Saguaro HS
A four-year varsity running back at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, Matthews rushed for 953 yards this past season, scoring 18 touchdowns. He rushed for a total of 2,694 yards during his high school career with 36 touchdowns. He is ranked as a three-star recruit according to 247sports.com and the number six in the state of Arizona for his position. He had several offers from Power Five schools including Georgia Tech, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Washington State, and Wisconsin.
Malachi Brown
RB
San Jacinto, CA / San Jacinto HS
Brown played at San Jacinto High School in Riverside, Calif. as a running back and cornerback. He had 1,515 rushing and 106 receiving yards his senior season this past year. For his high school career, he had 3,161 rushing yards and 206 receiving yards and was a three-time First Team All-League and two-time All-CIF.
Trey Wilson
RB
Inland Empire, CA / Rancho Cucamonga HS
A four-year varsity running back at Rancho Cucamonga High School in San Bernardino, Wilson rushed for 1,853 yards and had 22 touchdowns his senior year. He had a high school career total of 2,407 yards. In his last game of the year he had 29 carries, ran for 336 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Tristian Fui

Santa Barbara, CA / Bishop Diego HS
Fui played offensive and defensive line at Bishop Diego in Santa Barbara and was named First Team All-Marmonte League. The 6-3 Fui helped his team average 204.3 rushing yards per game and six yards per carry this past season. At defensive line he had 37 total tackles and 29 solo.
Alex Romero

Long Beach, CA / Millikan HS
Romero played offensive line at Millikan High School in Long Beach, CA. There, he helped them have 104.1 rushing yards per game and 5.7 yards per carry his junior year before being forced to miss his senior year due to injury.
Enzo Hall

Westlake Village, CA / Oaks Christian HS
Hall played offensive and defensive line at Oaks Christian High School down in southern California. There, he was named First Team All-Marmonte League after helping his team average 102.2 rushing yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry this last season. His older brother is former UCLA running back and current Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet. A three-star recruit, Hall also received offers to Arizona State, Louisville, Mississippi State, and UNLV.
Gage Burnett
LB
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA / Santa Margarita HS
A four-year starting linebacker and long snapper at Santa Margarita High School in Mission Viejo, CA, Burnett had 101 total tackles and 49 solo for his career. He was a three- time All-League honoree and is a three-star recruit according to 24/7 sports. He also had offers to Air Force, Arizona, Army, and Campbell.
Misa Paiau
LB
Santa Barbara, CA / Bishop Diego HS
Paiau played linebacker and running back at Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara. He had 51 total tackles, 44 solo, and 11 tackles for loss at linebacker his junior season. As a running back, he had 779 yards and two touchdowns his junior season at Bishop Diego. He was forced to miss this past year Paiau due to injury.
