DAVIS, Calif. — After having its match Wednesday against Pacific canceled due to rain, the Cal Poly men's tennis team will now turn its attention to playing its first match of conference play Friday when playing on the road at UC Davis.
Match time against the Aggies is scheduled for noon Friday in Davis. The match will be streamed live on UC Davis' website. The link to that can be found on the schedule page.
The Mustangs (4-7) will be looking to get off to a strong start in Big West play after a 2022 in which they won their second straight Big West regular season championship after being co-champions with UCSB.
Cal Poly won the last match it played, 4-2 over William & Mary in Houston March 25. Junior Noah Berry is 7-2 this season in singles while playing at the No. 1 spot and is ranked 77th by the ITA in the national singles rankings.
At 7-5 overall and 1-0 in Big West play, UC Davis currently sits tied for second place in the Big West standings. They have won three of their last four matches, including a 4-2 victory over UC San Diego in their start to Big West play. The Mustangs have defeated the Aggies in six straight matches and lead the all-time series 22-2.
Cal Poly will stay in Davis following Friday's match to face Nevada in a neutral site match Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m. for a makeup match that was supposed to be played in San Luis Obispo earlier this season but had to be postponed due to rain.
