Cal Poly Women's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. — The Cal Poly women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season this weekend at the Dennis Rizza Classic hosted by USC at the Jack Kramer Club.
Graduate student Melissa LaMette and fifth-year Delanie Dunkle both advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play to highlight action for the Mustangs.
LaMette posted a 7-5, 6-2 victory in her opening match against Fresno State's Matilde Magrini. She then took down Cal State Fullerton's Natalie Duffy, seeded fourth in the tournament, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Delanie rolled to a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win in her Round of 16 singles match.
Delanie also teamed up with her younger sister, Peyton Dunkle, in doubles play. The tandem, seeded second in the tourney, fell in the quarterfinals.
Sophomore Kennedy Buntrock also competed for the Mustangs.
With the fall season now over, Cal Poly will shift its attention to the spring season which will begin in early January. The full 2024 spring schedule for Mustang women's tennis will be released soon.
