Mustangs Compete at Saint Mary's Fall Invite

MORAGA, Calif. — Cal Poly women's tennis continued its fall season this past weekend, competing in the three-day Saint Mary's College Fall Invite.
In singles play, sophomore Sarah MacCallum advanced to the consolation semifinals in the red bracket to highlight action for the Mustangs during their second to last tournament of the fall season.
MacCallum fell in her first match at the tournament, before defeating Claire Galerkin from UC Davis 7-5, 6-4 and Kacey Feng from Santa Clara 6-1, 6-4 to make it to the consolation semis.
Graduate student Melissa LaMette, juniors Romane Mosse and Eliza Bates, sophomore Kennedy Buntrock and freshman Natalie Lynch also posted singles wins during the invitational.
In doubles, Bates and Buntrock teamed up for a 2-1 record, recording a 6-4 victory over a pairing from Cal and a 6-3 win over a tandem from Saint Mary's.
Cal Poly wraps up its fall season this Thursday at the Dennis Rizza Classic hosted by USC at the Jack Kramer Club.
