
Parrish Finishes Tied for 28th Place in Second Straight Tournament

FINAL RESULTS
SKOKIE, Ill. -- Cal Poly sophomore Jackson Parrish, who finished in a tie for 28th place in the season-opening Falcon Invitational more than two weeks ago, accomplished the same feat at the Windon Memorial, which completed a two-day run Tuesday at the Evanston Golf Club.
Parrish, a transfer from Colorado School of Mines, bettered his score by two strokes. Following his one-over-par 217 in Colorado Springs, the Henderson, Nevada, native carded a final-round 71 Tuesday for a 215 total on the 6,885-yard, par-70 course.
Parrish, who recorded a 74 and 70 on Monday, posted three birdies, a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey Tuesday, finishing tied for 28th with four other golfers, all with five-over-par aggregates.
As a team, Cal Poly finished 13th, two shots ahead of Big West Conference rival UC Davis. The Mustangs carded a four-person 45-over-par 885 total with a 299 and 289 Monday and 297 Tuesday.
Host Northwestern claimed top team honors with a two-under-par 838 total, nine strokes ahead of both Little Rock and Kent State. Marquette and North Florida both were eight over par to round out the top five.
Graduate student Ben Quick, a transfer from University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, carded a final-round 73 for a 223 total and 59th-place tie.
Other Mustang scores were a 75 for a 228 total and 74th place by Drew Kim, a 78 by Joey Zambri for a 222 total and 54th place, and a 79 by Luke Adam for a 231 total and 79th place.
Competing as an individual, Baron Szeto checked in with a 78 for a 227 total and 73rd place.
Robbie Higgins of North Florida edged Jansen Smith of Little by one stroke for the individual title. Both Higgins and Smith finished with 72s -- Higgins taking the trophy with a six-under-par 204 total while Smith finished five under par. Jack Tanner of Memphis was third at three under par.
Best round of the day was a 65 by James Imai of Northwestern, jumping from 43rd place into a tie for ninth place.
Parrish and five other golfers shared fourth place in par-4 scoring at even par while Quick was sixth in par-5 scoring at four under par. Parrish posted 10 birdies over 54 holes, eighth-best in the field of 80 golfers, while Szeto's nine birdies were No. 10.
Cal Poly remains in the upper Midwest to compete in the Marquette Intercollegiate next Sunday and Monday at the Milwaukee Country Club in River Hills, Wisc.
