SAN LUIS OBISPO – Seventh-year Cal Poly head coach Phil Rowe finalized the Cal Poly men’s golf roster for the 2026-27 season (Friday) with the announcement that Vidur Subramaniam (Sydney, Australia) has joined the program as a transfer following one season at Washington.
“Vid is a fantastic fit for our program. He excels in the classroom, has tremendous character and is a great teammate,” Rowe said. “His recent results (at Washington) and in Australia prove that when he’s playing with confidence, he can be a high-caliber collegiate golfer. Vid is sharp in all areas of the game and will continue to improve as he adds distance. We’re confident he’ll have a big year in San Luis Obispo.”
As a freshman last season, Subramaniam competed in two tournaments for a nationally-ranked Washington program that finished third at the Big Ten Championship: the Sept. 6-7 Sahalee Players Championship (Sammamish, Wash.) and Sept. 22-23 The Tindall (Bremerton, Wash.).
Prior to Washington in 2024, Subramaniam claimed an 11-shot victory at the 90-hole Harvey Norman Sydney Week of Golf and finished 11th at the 210-player Australian Men’s Amateur Championship. Subramaniam is also a previous member of the New South Wales Junior State Team.
Subramaniam joins Frederick Egnatios (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Eidan Jamzidi (Kuala Lampur, Malaysia) and Leo McDonough (Lafayette, Calif.) in completing Cal Poly’s four-player incoming class this fall.
The Mustangs, who open the 2026-27 season at Kent State’s Sept. 13-15 Canadian Collegiate (Muskoka Lakes, Ontario), also return 2026 Big West Freshman of the Year Rafael Bobo-Lloret to the lineup.
