Mustangs Improve 16 Shots Monday at Canadian Collegiate

FOOT’S BAY, Ontario – Three of the Cal Poly men’s golf program’s five players at Kent State’s Canadian Collegiate climbed the leaderboard Monday as the Mustangs completed second-round action at the at the 7,071-yard, par-71 Öviinbyrd GC.
Sophomore Rafael Bobo-Lloret (above) was Cal Poly’s biggest mover Monday, utilizing four birdies as part of an even-par 71 to reach 38th place with a two-day, seven-over 149.
Freshman Vidur Subramaniam produced two birdies Monday, but closed with a five-over 76. Subramaniam shares 47th place with a nine-over 151.
Fellow freshman Frederick Egnatios was seven shots better during Monday’s second round, totaling three birdies as part of a two-over 73. Egnatios is 55th with an 11-over 153.
One shot behind in 59th, freshman Leo McDonough also collected three birdies Monday for a four-over 75. Senior Jack Jarvis, meanwhile, improved two strokes between Sunday’s opening round and Monday’s second.
As a program, Cal Poly was 16 shots better during the second round, but remained in 13th position.
Final-round action at the Canadian Collegiate gets underway Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 3:30 a.m. PT.
