Grein, Coleman to Represent Cal Poly at Big Sky Summer Kickoff

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Wide receiver Chris Coleman and defensive end Dustin Grein will represent Cal Poly at the 2022 Big Sky Conference Summer Kickoff this weekend at the Davenport Grand Hotel.
All 12 football teams will be represented in Spokane, Wash., with the events running from Saturday through Monday and including over four hours of live coverage on ESPN+ on Monday, starting at 9 a.m. PDT.
Dustin Grein
Grein (6-2, 240, Senior, Turlock, Calif./Turlock High School) made 36 tackles in 11 games last fall. His statistics included 6.5 tackles for lost yardage and five quarterback hurries.
Grein notched 14 tackles in three games during the 2020-21 spring season. As a freshman in 2019, he played in five games as a backup slot back on offense before switching over to the defense.
Chris Coleman
Coleman (6-4, 230, Graduate, Bakersfield, Calif./Garces Memorial High School/Fresno State) led the Mustangs last fall with 43 receptions for 590 yards and four touchdowns. One of his scoring catches was a 75-yarder from Spencer Brasch against Portland State.
Coleman played at Fresno State before transferring to Cal Poly, making three catches in three seasons.
The schedule of events for the Big Sky Summer Kickoff begins Saturday with players offering instruction at the annual Big Sky Football Youth Clinic from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at North Central High School.
Clinic participants will be instructed by student-athletes from the Big Sky's 12 football teams and will receive a free poster for autographs following the event. The clinic is limited to the first 100 kids to register for the event.
Saturday evening will feature the first-ever Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame banquet with a ceremony honoring all 14 inductees of the inaugural class. A list of the inductees can be found here.
Players and coaches will be involved in photo and video shoots all day Sunday, with several meetings for administrators scheduled as well. Dinner will include the presentation of conference awards.
Monday morning will feature over four hours of live coverage from the Davenport Grand Hotel, beginning at 9 a.m. on ESPN+. The Big Sky's Mariluz Cook will interview players and coaches from the conference's 12 football teams as well as Commissioner Tom Wistrcill and special guests throughout the day.
The conference's preseason coaches and media polls as well as the preseason all-conference team will be released Monday morning.
The Big Sky is coming off a historic football season in 2021, as the conference earned a league-high five FCS playoff selections and had another National Championship Game appearance to cap off the season. The conference also knocked off four FBS teams in 2021, which was the most wins over FBS foes for the league since 2012.
