Cal Poly-Fresno State Football Game to be Televised by FS1

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly's season-opening football game Sept. 1 at Fresno State will be nationally televised by FS1.
Kickoff for the matchup of Central California rivals has been set for 7:30 p.m.
The game inside Bulldog Stadium was moved from Saturday, Sept. 3, to Thursday, Sept. 1, in order to take advantage of more opportunities for the game to be televised.
Cal Poly and Fresno State, which played each other last September, will meet for the 46th time in football this fall. The series began in 1922 and both schools were members of the California Collegiate Athletic Association from the 1940s through the 1960s.
The Bulldogs beat the Mustangs for the eighth straight time, 63-10, in 2021. Cal Poly has won 10 of the games in the series with two ties.
Cal Poly's home opener against the University of San Diego will be played Sept. 10 on the new artificial turf recently installed at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Kickoff time for that game has yet to be announced.
FS1 has broadcast one other Cal Poly athletic event -- the men's basketball game at Creighton on Nov. 22, 2019.
FS1 is available on Spectrum TV cable channel 69.
