Mustangs Host Long Beach State, #75 Hawai'i This Week

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Riding a five-match winning streak, Cal Poly women's tennis is set to host Long Beach State Friday, April 1 and Hawaii Sunday, April 3 both at noon.

Redshirt junior Kim Bhunu is 8-5 at the No. 1 singles spot. Switching between the No. 5 and 6 spots, freshman Peyton Dunkle is 9-2. Playing primarily at the No. 3 spot is redshirt sophomore Melissa LaMette (8-5). Redshirt sophomore Delanie Dunkle is 7-6 mostly at the No. 5 spot.
Cal Poly hasn't lost the doubles point since March 5 against USF. At the No. 1 doubles spot Redshirt junior Emily Ackerman and Bhunu (11-4) are on a seven-match winning streak. Peyton Dunkle and graduate student Laura Bente are 4-0 at the No. 3 spot. At the No. 2 spot Delanie Dunkle and LaMette are 6-3.
The Mustangs have shutout their opponents in each of their last four matches.
Long Beach State is 8-6 overall and 1-3 on the road this season.
Hawaii (8-3), who's ranked No. 75 in the latest ITA poll is currently on a seven-match winning streak.
Following Sunday's match, Cal Poly is on the road at No. 21 USC on Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m.
