Zambri Cards Career Best-Tying 68 in The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. -- Cal Poly golfer Joey Zambri matched his career best with a 68 in the second round of The Goodwin men's golf tournament hosted by Stanford on Friday at the Stanford Golf Course.
Zambri, who also carded a 68 in the Husky Invitational hosted by Washington last September, put on his scorecard six birdies and four bogeys for his two-under-par round on the 6,742-yard, par-70 course.
Zambri jumped 31 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 107th place with his 147 total.
Nicholas Mok added a 73 and Baron Szeto a 75 as all three share 107th place at 147.
Austin Liu posted a 74 for a 145 total and 93rd-place tie with one more round to be played Saturday. Sean Lehman was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorcard.
Cal Poly remained tied for 24th place with Drexel as both teams carded four-person 291 totals Thursday and 290 aggregates Friday.
Stanford leads with a 20-under-par 540 total, seven strokes ahead of both SMU and Nevada. Washington and Georgia Tech share fourth place at 548.
Individual co-leaders after 36 holes are Lucas Carper of UC Davis and Karl Vilips of Stanford with nine-under-par 131 totals. Three other golfers share third place, one shot back.
