Egnatios Captures Title at USwing Mojing Junior World Championship

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Firing a six-under 210 (68-69-73) that included 12 birdies, Cal Poly men’s golf incoming freshman Frederick Egnatios topped the 208-player field at the July 7-9 USwing Mojing Junior World Championship.
At the Torrey Pines South Course in La Jolla, Calif., Egnatios – a native of Scottsdale, Ariz. – edged runner-up Oliver Mayson by one stroke. Egnatios sustained just one double bogey over 54 holes while eagling the par-five sixth hole as part of an opening-round 68.
Previous champions at the Junior World Championship include Tiger Woods, Phil Michelson, Ernie Els, Nick Price, David Toms and Jason Day, among other future Major champions.
Egnatios joins Eidan Jamzidi (Kuala Lampur, Malaysia), Leo McDonough (Lafayette, Calif.) and Washington transfer Vidur Subramaniam (Sydney, Australia) in completing Cal Poly’s four-player incoming class this fall.
The Mustangs, who open the 2026-27 season at Kent State’s Sept. 13-15 Canadian Collegiate (Muskoka Lakes, Ontario), also return 2026 Big West Freshman of the Year Rafael Bobo-Lloret to the lineup.
