Mustangs Host Doubleheader Sunday at Mustang Tennis Complex

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – After a two-week break, Cal Poly women's tennis returns to action this week to host a doubleheader Sunday, March 20. The Mustangs will face Seattle University at 9:30 a.m. and Fresno Pacific at 2 p.m. They are looking to continue their 3-0 home record at Mustang Tennis Complex.
Most recently, the Mustangs defeated Pacific 5-2 on March 6 with an outstanding 6-1 performance by their No. 1 doubles duo of redshirt juniors Emily Ackerman and Kim Bhunu. The duo is 8-4 and on a four-match winning streak.
At the No. 2 doubles spot redshirt sophomores Delanie Dunkle and Melissa LaMette are 5-2.
In singles, Bhunu is 7-5 and on a four-match winning streak at the No. 1 spot. At mostly the No. 5 singles spot, freshman Peyton Dunkle is 7-2. Playing primarily at the No. 3 spot LaMette's overall record is 7-5.
Seattle University is 1-8 and on a three-match losing streak. Their most recent match against UNLV yielded at 0-7 score.
Last season, Cal Poly blanked Fresno Pacific 7-0. The Sunbirds are 6-4 overall this season.
The Mustangs will stay at home to host Santa Clara Tuesday, March 22 at 11 a.m.
