Three Mustangs Advance to Singles Main Draw at ITA Regionals

STANFORD, Calif. — Sophomores Eliza Bates and Misha Berry, and junior Shreya Ravilla all advanced to the main draw in singles play to highlight action for the Cal Poly women's tennis team on the first day of the ITA Northwest Regionals on Thursday at Stanford.
Ravilla defeated Washington's Yolanda Lin 8-4 in her first qualifier match, and then soared past Sacramento State's Grace McSkimming 8-1 to earn a spot in the main draw.
Bates took down Lauren Ko from UC Davis 8-6 to punch her ticket to the main draw, while Berry outlasted San Francisco's Alicia Yue 8-7 (7-4) to move on.
Bates, Berry, Ravilla will be back in action Friday along with the other six Mustangs competing in the tournament for main draw singles and doubles play. Action starts at 8:30 a.m.
