ROSS EARNS TITLE AND ADDS 2nd IN OTHER HURDLE FINAL: In the closest event of the day, the women's 100-meter hurdles came down to a thrilling, classic photo finish. After a formal review, Cal Poly's Molly Ross and CSUN's Brisa Guzman-Sanchez were declared co-champions, each tying at 13.75 seconds. Both registered exactly 13.744 to share 9 points apiece.
Ross came back to the track about an hour-and-a-half later for the 400m hurdles, adding a second-place contribution there, in 1:00.58, giving herself a combined 17 points from the hurdles.

RIND VICTORIOUS AT FIRST CONFERENCE MEET: Anisa Rind won the women's 400-meter crown at her first Big West meet, taking the title in 56.36 seconds. Cal Poly swept the medal stand, as Cassidy Hubert and Julianna Ruotolo followed in 56.69 and a season-best 56.82. Belle Aduaka added to the lead as well, scoring in seventh place via 58.14.

RELAY SQUAD EARNS ANOTHER TITLE: The 4x400m relay unit finished off the women's team championship in style, winning the event in 3:48.48, as Ross, Rind, Ruotolo and Hubert put the Mustangs' score over the 180-point mark.

ROBISON WINS TITLE WITH HISTORIC PERFORMANCE: Justin Robison won the men's 1,500 meters in 3:44.68, dominating while moving to No. 8 in school history for the event. His title came with the fastest effort around the league during the past nine years of championships.
Elias Opsahl also made the all-conference team, earning third place, at a career-best pace of 3:48.07, and Anthony Benitez was right behind in fourth via 3:50.37. Rory Smail also added a season-fastest 3:53.18, good for 10th.
Robison capped his meet in Anteater Stadium with a second-place 5,000-meter finish, in 14:11.78. Cal Poly scored a combined 18 points from that event, as Jake Ritter added a fourth-place 14:16.85; followed by John Bennett in sixth at 14:28.88 and Spencer Thurman tallying seventh via 14:32.11, a new PR.

ALLISON TAKES SILVER TO EARN ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADES: Chineme Allison came in second for the men's 100-meter dash, in a photo finish next to UC Davis' Benjamin Goodwin, 10.67 to 10.68.
In addition to Allison's 8 points, Tyler Esteves also scored, placing fourth at 10.71.

DANIELE EARNS ALL-CONFERENCE STATUS IN 100 & 200: Freshman Shelby Daniele had a banner debut at the BWC meet, including a second-place finish in the women's 200m, in 24.57 seconds. Earlier in the day, Daniele also came in third place in the 100-meter dash, making another all-conference list by clocking a time of 11.92.
BRILL ALSO SCORES 2nd: Sierra Brill added another silver to the haul, making the All-BWC Team after running the women's 5,000 meters in 16:36.02.

POYNTER MAKES SECOND STRAIGHT ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM: Bobby Poynter made his second consecutive All-BWC Team in the men's 800m, clocking 1:51.60 to finish in third place. Two Mustang teammates also netted points in the event, with Quinton Alexander running a season-best 1:51.85 to take fourth, and Mason Elefant right behind in fifth place at 1:52.31.
WOMEN'S 4x1 RELAY ALSO TAKES 3rd: Cal Poly also earned an all-conference plaque in the women's 4x1, as Rind, Daniele, Ross & Ruotolo combined for a season-best effort of 47.10 seconds, finishing third.
THIARA SCORES 10 POINTS IN HURDLES: Early in the afternoon, Bikram Thiara came in fourth for the men's 110m hurdles, posting a 14.53. He returned later to again score fourth in the 400H, clocking a season-best effort of 52.27. Jonathan Chagnon also scored in the final, taking eighth place in 55.98.
MEN'S 4x1 SQUAD, JONES, ESTEVES ALSO TALLY 5 POINTS EACH: Cal Poly added a fourth-place finish in the men's 4x100m relay, with Allison, Esteves, Joey Souto and Hunter Matys recording a 41.39. Meanwhile, Bailey Jones also tallied a fourth-place men's triple jump finish, landing a mark of 48 feet, 8 inches on his sixth attempt. Esteves would also take fourth place in the 200m dash, clocking 21.67.
DIAZ ADDS 3 POINTS IN 1,500m; THEN COMES BACK TO SCORE AGAIN IN 800: Misty Diaz scored sixth place for the women's 1,500 meters, running 4:30.47. Just under two hours later, Diaz returned to the track for the 800 meters, adding another sixth-place final, via 2:11.80. Hailey Golmon led the Mustangs in fifth place, thanks to a season-best effort of 2:09.89. Hubert also netted 2 points, via 2:12.05 for seventh.
MUSTANGS CONTINUE ON IN POSTSEASON: The postseason will continue regionally at Texas A&M from May 26-29 for the NCAA West Prelim Round.
The field, comprised of Top-48 individuals per event west of Mississippi, will be announced on Thursday, May 20 at 10 a.m. PT on NCAA.com.
