
Cal Poly Men's Tennis Falls to UC Davis, 4-3

DAVIS – The Cal Poly men's tennis team dropped its first match in almost a month, as it fell to UC Davis 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in Davis, Calif.
The Mustangs are now 14-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Cal Poly started the match off on a strong note, as the No. 44 doubles tandem of Ben Donovan and Corey Pang beat Bryce McKelvie and James Wade 6-2 on court one.
Garrett Auproux and Josh Ortlip beat Alec Adamson and Max Pham 6-4 on court three, clinching the doubles point for the Mustangs.
Up 1-0, Josh Ortlip was beat by McKelvie on court three 6-2, 7-5, while Auproux pushed Everett Maltby to three sets on court four, but fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, giving Davis a 2-1 lead.
Axel Damiens put the first singles point on the board for the Mustangs, as he beat David Goulak in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 on court six, tying the score 2-2.
Antoine Noel took Eli White to three sets but fell 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 on court five.
Pang tied the score up 3-3 after beating Wade 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 on court two.
Donovan pushed Adamson to three sets but couldn't hold on, as he fell 2-6, 7-5, 7-5, clinching the match for the Aggies.
The Mustangs will be back on the courts on Friday April 7 to host UC Irvine at noon.
