Cal Poly STUNT Sees Season Come to End with Loss to No. 2 Kentucky in National Championship Semifinals

NASHVILLE — Cal Poly STUNT saw its incredible first Division I season come to an end Sunday at the National Championships in Nashville, falling to No. 2 Kentucky in the semifinals.

The No. 3 Mustangs fell to the No. 2 Wildcats 20-12 in the semifinal matchup to send Kentucky to the National Championship against California Baptist. Cal Poly had go to the semifinals after defeating Mercyhurst and Missouri State on Saturday.

It was a remarkable first season as a Division I team for the Mustangs under head coach Annette Laron-Pickett. They went 13-7 and held a top three ranking all season and advanced to the National Championship Semifinals.
